  • Never leave the empty carafe on the keep warm platewhen the coffee maker is on. Otherwise the carafe 1s liable to crack.
  • Do not set a hot container on a cold surface.
  • Do not use a cracked container or a container having a loose or weakened handle.
  • Do not clean container with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.
  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove the bottom cover on the appliance.
  • The container is designed for use with this appliance. It must never be used on a range top.

EXTENSION CORDS

A short power-supply cord Is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used,

  • The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
  • The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children).

POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug Is Intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

OPERATION

Before first use

  • Remove packaging materials, labels and stickers from coffee maker.
  • Clean coffee maker thoroughly before using for the first time
  • Insert the charcoal filler into the water filler holder

NOTE: To clear the coffee maker of any residues fill ii to the maximum level mark with fresh waler and run brew cycle. Repeat procedure at least once.

Using the coffee maker
The coffee maker is only for brewing coffee.

  • Open coffee-filling lid . Place filter basket into coffee maker so that the arrow markers on filler basket line up with arrow on coffee maker
  • Insert the permanent filler or a paper filter into the filler basket Do not use the permanent filter with a paper filter as water will not flow through the filter basket correctly.
  • According lo the chart below, use the measuring spoon lo add ground coffee into the permanent filter
  • Amounts can be adjusted according to taste Press the front of the coffee-filling lid down until it locks in place.

    • 1 cup=S oz, 1 spoon=S g ground coffee
  • Open water tank lid . Fill carafe with desired amount of water. Check the water level indicator on the coffee maker. Pour water into the water tank Close water tank lid. Place carafe on keep warm plate.

NOTE: Splash guard allows you to fill water tank without spills and drips

  • Insert power plug into a standard 120 V AC wall outlet. flashes on the LCD display. Setting time
  • Press hr and hold for 3 seconds . The LCD display flashes. Press again to set hours.
  • Press min and hold for 3 seconds. The LCD display flashes. Press again to set minutes.

NOTE: The time setting will be deleted if you unplug coffee maker from the outlet and do not plug back in within 14.

STARTING BREWING

  • Press once to start the manual brewing cycle. lights up. The brewing begins.

NOTE: To interrupt brewing, press once more.

  • When buzzer sounds twice, the brewing cycle is complete. The keep warm cycle starts. Remove carafe to serve coffee. Return it to the keep warm plate to keep it warm. CAUTION: Do not touch keep warm plate I Do not open coffee-filling lid during brewing! Risk of burn injury.

CAUTION!

  • After the brew cycle is complete, wait a minimum of S minutes before opening the coffee-filling lid .
  • Steam builds up under the coffee-filling lid . There is a risk of Injury from hot steam.

EXTRA FEATURES:

  • The drip stop valve function allows you to remove carafe during the brewing cycle to serve a cup of coffee (replace carafe within 30 seconds).
  • Water filter holder with charcoal filter .

NOTE: Program setting is only possible when clock time is set.

  • Press prog once and operate hr and min buttons (Setting time) to set the program start time.
  • Press prog or auto to save settings.

NOTE: The program will be stored automatically if no button is operated for 3 seconds and the clock time is displayed.

  • To change or view program settings press prog again. The program start time appears on the LCD display (if activated in the program) for 3 seconds. Press hr and min to modify the program (Setting time).
  • Press auto to activate the program. auto button lights up and the LCD display shows program start time for 2 seconds. Brewing will start after the program start time is reached.

NOTE:

  • Program activation is possible if is turned off.
  • When program function is running, the auto button light will go out and does not illuminate – even if activated. You can deactivate the program before it starts by pressing auto again.
  • Program function will be deleted if you unplug the coffee maker from the outlet for more than 14 seconds.

CLEANING

Proper maintenance will ensure years of service from your appliance. Clean the appliance after every use. This appliance contains no user serviceable parts and requires little maintenance. Leave servicing or repairs to a qualified personnel.

WARNING: Unplug the appliance and allow to cool before cleaning.

CAUTION:

  • Do not Immerse the coffee maker, or the power cord with plug Into water or any liquids
  • Clean the housing and keep warm plate with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive pads or alcohol.
  • Remove the carafe permanent filter and the filter basket from the coffee maker.
  • The carafe is dishwasher-safe. Wash carafe, carafe lid filter basket and permanent filter in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  • Use baking soda or mild cleaning agent to remove stains on the carafe.
  • If stains are hard to remove fill carafe with hot water and add 2 tablespoons of dishwasher detergent.
  • Wash and rinse after leaving water with detergent in carafe overnight.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry after washing and before use.

NOTE: Do not dry inside of water tank with a cloth, as lint may remain.

  • After cleaning, reassemble coffee maker.
  • After cleaning process is complete the clean indicator/button goes off. Fill water tank with clean water and run one brewing cycle to rinse the coffee maker.
  • Change the charcoal filter Reinsert the charcoal filter to the coffee maker

NOTE: You can use the cleaning function before reaching 60 cycles (especially if the water hardness is above normal). Press and hold clean indicator/ for 3 seconds.

NOTE: The Cleaning Process takes 60 minutes to complete. You cannot cancel the cleaning process before it is complete. Unplugging the machine only delays the cleaning process.
